Our Story
Louise Viljoen, the founder of Ouma Swesie se Spens, discovered the amazing qualities of garlic while working in her kitchen in Darling, Western Cape. Her passion for food was inspired by her mother, who worked in catering and shared many special moments with her during childhood.
“The idea for our garlic products came about during a weekend spent with my children, who are also in the food industry,” Louise explains. After researching the market and selling raw garlic at local markets for a few years, we decided to launch Ouma Swesie se Spens.
Louise’s goal is to create garlic products that are not only delicious but also visually appealing. She wants people to enjoy garlic for its great taste and health benefits. Her products aim to enhance every dish, whether you’re enjoying a snack or preparing a meal to share with others.
